DO PARENTS HAVE THE RIGHT TO CARE FOR THEIR CHILDREN?

It all depends on age. If the child is aged 21 and over – the parent can be the caregiver. If the child is less than 21, the parent can not act as such.

CAN THE CPDAP CAREGIVER LIVE IN THE SAME PLACE AS THE CONSUMER?

A great and very topical issue. And again, it all depends on the situation. Although there is a rule: a consumer directed personal assistant may include any other adult relative of the consumer who does not reside with the consumer or any other adult relative who resides with the consumer because the amount of care the consumer requires makes such relative’s presence necessary.
